International Exports

Huge quantities of produce and manufactured items are shipped to the UK everyday as international exports. Few people living in the UK would probably be aware of just how much we rely on international exports.  A few examples of the types of products that are imported into the UK regularly would include fruits, meat and other food items, machinery, cars and a whole host of other everyday items that we take for granted. Although it may seem odd why some products that can be produced in the UK will end up on our shores in the form of international exports it is in fact the case that it is quite often significantly more financially viable to import goods rather than produce them in the UK. This is especially true of food as some food crops grown overseas are incredibly cheap to produce.

Most of the international exports that reach the UK are typically everyday items that we take for granted, but that have been produced for a very low cost overseas. Even with the additional transport costs on top of the initial cost of manufacture these items can still maintain a significant profit margin when sold on as international exports.

In a brief visit to your local supermarket you’ll probably find that a significant number of the items on the shelves are international exports brought the UK from overseas. This is particularly true of the fruit and vegetables as the British climate does not lend itself to growing many of these items.
